Substances that may have serious and irreversible effects on human health and the environment can be classified as substances of very high concern (SVHCs).

In accordance with REACH Regulation, substances with the following hazard characteristics shall be classified as substances of very high concern:

1) Category 1A or 1B of carcinogenic, mutagenic, or toxic to reproduction (CMR) substances under CLP regulation;

► If a substance is classified as SVHC, they will be included in the SVHC list, which does not mean that they are prohibited. All substances in the Authorization List are substances of very high concern (SVHC).

► Producers, and importers have to notify ECHA of the substances listed on the Candidate List which are present in their articles, if both the following conditions are met:
1. The substance is present in their articles above a concentration of 0.1% (w/w);
2. The substance is present in these articles in quantities totaling over 1t/y.
