Australia Opens Public Consultation on 18 Draft Chemical Evaluation Statements

On April 2, 2025, the Australian Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme (AICIS) announced the commencement of a public consultation period for 18 draft evaluation statements on industrial chemicals, with submissions due by May 29, 2025. The purpose of this consultation is to gather public feedback on the details of risk assessments (including hazard and exposure assessments, methodologies, and conclusions), risk management recommendations, and proposed regulatory changes.

Each statement provides manufacturers and importers with detailed information about identified risks and their management measures. The 18 draft evaluation statements cover the following topics:
