Chile's REACH system, based on the EU REACH regulations, involves the registration, evaluation, authorization, and restriction of chemicals, aiming to enhance the management of chemical substances to protect human health and the environment. On February 9, 2025, the second round of registration under the Chilean REACH system officially commenced.

Registrants: Manufacturers or importers located within Chile

Scope of Registration:

Hazardous substances used for non-industrial purposes with an annual production or import quantity exceeding one ton. Hazardous substances are identified according to the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) adopted by Chile.

*This round of registration does not include hazardous substances in mixtures.

Registration Period: From February 9, 2025, to August 30, 2025.

Information Required for Registration:

  1. Registrants need to download the designated Excel spreadsheet and fill in the required information.
Download link for the form: https://plataformasqi.mma.gob.cl/producer/notification/UsoDistintoIndustrial
  2. SDS (Safety Data Sheet)
Send the above information to the official email: notificacion.sqi@mma.gob.cl.

Reminder:

Substances not registered by August 30, 2025, will not be included in Chile's initial list of non-industrial hazardous substances and will be considered "new substances." These will require registration under new requirements in 2026, incurring additional registration fees.

Relevant businesses should closely monitor updates from the Chilean REACH to ensure timely registration and avoid market access barriers.
