U.S. CEPN Priority Chemicals List
The Clean Electronics Production Network (CEPN) was established in 2016 and is composed of over 20 member organizations, including electronics brands and suppliers, environmental NGOs, labor and worker representatives, eco-labels, and representatives from academia and government agencies. CEPN is an organization dedicated to promoting transparency and safety in the use of chemicals during the production of electronic products. The organization has developed a priority chemicals list aimed at identifying and reducing the use of hazardous chemicals in the manufacturing of electronic products, striving to protect workers in the electronics industry from the dangers of hazardous chemicals. CEPN has already determined the first and second rounds of priority chemicals, both of which focus on solvents used in cleaning products commonly used in the electronics manufacturing industry. Substances listed as priority chemicals will be prioritized for elimination or substitution in the electronics manufacturing industry.
