Swiss List of Restricted Substances (ORRChem)

The "Swiss List of Restricted Substances" originates from Article 5 of Annex 1.17 of the "Swiss Chemical Risk Reduction Ordinance (ORRChem)" which came into effect in 2005. ORRChem essentially combines the EU RoHS, REACH Annex XVII Restricted Substances List, and REACH Annex XIV Authorisation List. The "Swiss Restricted Substances List" stipulates a prohibition on marketing or using the listed substances or preparations containing these substances for professional or commercial purposes, except for specified exemptions. For example, uses in medicinal products, foodstuffs, feedstuffs, plant protection products, and biocidal products are exempt from this prohibition. Detailed conditions for these exemptions can be found in Article 2 of Annex 1.17.
