EU List of CMR Substances
CMR stands for substances that are Carcinogenic, Mutagenic (causing genetic mutations), and toxic to Reproduction. According to the CLP Regulation, CMR substances are classfied into three categories: Category 1A, Category 1B, and Category 2. In accordance with Article 28, 29, and 30 of Annex XVII of the EU REACH Regulation, CMR substances classified as Categoary 1A or 1B are prohibited (within specified concentrations) to be placed, used, or supplied to the market. CMR substances are listed in Appendix 1 to 6 and these substances are also listed in Part 3 of Annex VI of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
