Recently, the Ministry of Environment (MoE) of South Korea, in accordance with Article 42 (Disclosure of Chemical Information) of the Act on Registration and Evaluation, etc. of Chemicals (K-REACH) and Paragraph 2 of Article 51 (Disclosure of Chemical Information, etc.) of the Enforcement Rules of the same Act, disclosed the results of existing chemical substance notifications and released the updated K-REACH pre-registered substance list.
As of December 31, 2024, a total of 17,533 chemical substances completed pre-registration or late pre-registration applications, with 249,371 submissions received. Among these, 77 substances were classified as CMR (Carcinogenic, Mutagenic, or toxic to Reproduction) substances. Approximately 8.8% of the pre-registered substances have an annual production or import volume exceeding 1,000 tons.
