The Swiss Ordinance on the Reduction of Risks Relating to Chemical Products (ORRChem) is the short name for the "Ordinance on the Reduction of Risks Associated with the Use of Certain Particularly Hazardous Substances, Preparations, and Articles," which came into effect in 2005, with the latest revision on October 1, 2023.
This Ordinance essentially combines elements of the EU's RoHS, the list of restricted substances in Annex XVII of REACH, and the list of substances subject to authorization in Annex XIV of REACH. Article 5 of Annex 1.17 of the Ordinance includes a list of restricted substances, containing information on 54 groups of substances. This list stipulates the prohibition of placing the listed substances or preparations containing these substances on the market for use, or for professional or commercial purposes, except for the exemptions provided. Detailed conditions for exemptions can be referred to in Article 2 of Annex 1.17.
