Japan Plans to Exempt 87 Substances from Annual Reporting Requirements

Date:Jan 13, 2025

Japan proposed to exempt 87 chemical substances from the annual reporting requirements of the Chemical Substances Control Law (CSCL), and plans to remove one substance from the current list. These 87 substances are not considered to require human or environmental risk assessments as they do not fall into either the first or second category of designated chemicals. The draft proposal was published on January 4, with the public consultation period ending on February 3, and it is expected to officially take effect in late March.
