Consultation on the management issues of hazardous chemicals when used for pesticide purposes.
Date:Dec 26, 2024

Specific Q: Our company uses chlorine dioxide powder for water disinfection and sterilization, with the main component chlorine dioxide content at 10WW. I would like to ask whether the chlorine dioxide powder needs to be managed as a hazardous chemical? Thank you!

A: According to the provisions of item (4) of Explanation Four in the "Catalogue of Hazardous Chemicals (2015)", when hazardous chemicals are used for pesticide purposes, it refers to their original pesticides. Therefore, this product does not belong to the hazardous chemicals managed in the catalog. However, this product still has certain hazards, and enterprises should strengthen their management.
