US EPA Launches Study and Restriction Plan for PFAS in Industrial Wastewater

On December 16, 2024, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) publicly initiated a new research and restriction plan for industrial wastewater discharges of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), seeking public comments. This initiative is a key component of the EPA's PFAS Strategy, focusing on deep data and information collection across industries such as battery manufacturing, centralized waste treatment, and oil and gas extraction, as well as facilities processing PFAS.
