Japan to Establish New PFAS Regulations for Drinking Water in Spring 2025
Date:Dec 10, 2024

The government of Japan plans to consider new PFAS regulations for drinking water in spring 2025 to reduce health risks. This decision is based on the first survey results of PFOS and PFOA levels in drinking water, which showed contamination levels significantly above national standards at certain water treatment facilities. The government also launched a blood testing program for approximately 800 residents to assess the impact of PFAS on human health.
