South Korea to Further Restrict the Use of Lead Compounds and Methylene Chloride

The Ministry of Environment of South Korea plans to further restrict the use of lead compounds and their mixtures through the K-REACH regulations, prohibiting the manufacture, import, sale, storage, transport, or use of substances containing more than 0.009% lead in paints. Additionally, 19 specific lead compounds will be added to the restricted list. At the same time, methylene chloride and its mixtures containing more than 0.1% will be banned for use in household paint removers, cleaning agents, and aerosols.
