ECHA Latest Review: 35% of SDS Still Non-Compliant with Regulations
Date:Dec 05, 2024

On December 3, 2024, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) released a report covering an EU-wide review involving 28 EU-EEA countries, which conducted a comprehensive examination of over 2,500 chemical safety data sheets (SDS). The findings revealed that approximately 35% of the SDS were non-compliant with regulatory requirements. Although there has been an improvement in compliance compared to the past, ECHA emphasized that further enhancements in the quality of information in SDS are necessary to more effectively protect workers, professional users, and the environment.
