Japan Classifies 138 Perfluorinated Compounds as Class I Specified Chemical Substances

On November 15, 2024, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Ministry of the Environment of Japan officially passed and promulgated an order following a draft jointly released and consulted on September 9, 2024. According to this order, 138 perfluorinated compounds were designated as Class I specified chemical substances.
