European Chemicals Agency Publishes Final Report on Regulatory Strategy
Date:Oct 24, 2024

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) published the final report of its Integrated Regulatory Strategy (IRS) for 2019-2023, demonstrating successful screening of high-production volume chemicals on the European market since 2018, with annual production or import volumes exceeding 100 tons. Since 2019, ECHA has grouped and screened 6000 chemicals, with approximately 1900 likely requiring regulatory risk management measures. ECHA will continue to advance its regulatory strategy for 2024-2028, enhancing protection for human health and the environment, and integrating new tasks into the “one substance, one assessment” management approach to increase efficiency and achieve the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
