ECHA launches public consultation on the CLH proposal for calcium carbide

On September 23, 2024, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) launched a public consultation on the proposal for the harmonized classification and labeling (CLH) of calcium carbide. The consultation period will last for 60 days. The CLH process aims to ensure consistency and transparency of hazard information for chemicals across Europe. This procedure includes assessing the hazards of chemical substances, proposing appropriate classifications and labeling, publicly collecting comments, and undergoing a final review and recommendation by Risk Assessment Committee (RAC) of ECHA.
