Japan Designates Certain Perfluorinated Compounds as Class I Specified Chemical Substances

On September 9, 2024, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and Ministry of the Environment jointly released a draft that designates certain perfluorinated compounds as Class I Specified Chemical Substances under the Chemical Substances Control Law. It is based on the latest resolution of the Stockholm Convention, aimed at banning the manufacture, import, and use of these chemicals.
