Japan Announces 164 New Chemicals, Identifies Three as High-Risk to Health and Environment

The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Ministry of the Environment of Japan published the names of 164 new chemical substances along with the results of their environmental and health impact assessments. They noted that three of these substances have been classified as specific general chemicals, which may cause significant negative effects on human health or the ecological environment in cases of continuous intake or exposure.
