Maine Releases Preliminary Vision for PFAS Phase-out Rule
Date:Aug 09, 2024

Maine revised its 2023 rule draft on August 5, simplifying the implementation of the state's 2021 PFAS product regulations. This update postpones the ban on most non-essential PFAS by two years to 2032, narrows the comprehensive reporting requirements to only cover "currently unavoidable uses" (CUUs), and exempts items such as semiconductors and motor vehicles.
