Japan to Classify Polyoxyethylene Nonylphenyl Ether as Class II Specified Chemical Substance

Japan has announced that polyoxyethylene nonylphenyl ether (NPE) will be designated as a Class II Specified Chemical Substance, with relevant label information measures to be implemented from April 2025 to prevent environmental pollution. Additionally, producers and importers are required to provide the CAS number for NPE and report its production or import volumes.
