On July 15, Health Canada and Environment and Climate Change Canada announced preliminary plans, refining the details of last year's draft report on PFAS conditions. The updated proposal suggests adding PFAS to "Part 2" of Schedule 1, rather than to "Part 1" as called for by non-governmental organizations. The update also recommends excluding fluoropolymers from the proposed definition of PFAS, stating that these polymers have different exposure and hazard characteristics.
