California Lists Laundry Detergents Containing NPEs as Priority Products Under the SCP Program

The California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) has designated laundry detergents containing nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPEs) as Priority Products under the Safer Consumer Products (SCP) program. This regulation will take effect from October 1st, requiring all manufacturers who sell NPE-containing laundry detergents in California to conduct an Alternatives Analysis (AA), or remove these products from the California market.
