Japan Bans Import of 21 Products Containing Harmful PFOA Chemicals and Related Compounds

Japan approved a revision to the Order of Enforcement of Act on the Regulation of Manufacture and Evaluation of Chemical Substances, designating perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) isomers or their salts and related compounds as Class I Specified Chemical Substances, and banned the import of 13 products containing PFOA isomers or their salts and 8 products containing PFOA-related compounds.
