Catalogue of Goods Prohibited from Import (No. 9) & Catalogue of Goods Prohibited from Export (No. 8) was Published

On December 29, 2023, the Ministry of Commerce, together with the General Administration of Customs and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, jointly issued the Announcement on the Release of the Catalogue of Goods Prohibited from Import and the Catalogue of Goods Prohibited from Export  (Announcement No. 63 of the Ministry of Commerce, 2023), which will come into effect on January 1, 2024.

The announcement was formulated in accordance with the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China and the Regulations on the Administration of Goods and Technologies for Import and Export, with the aim of protecting human health and safety and the environment.

This announcement specifies the commodity code, commodity name, notes, and definition of short-chain chlorinated paraffin wax, which applies to enterprises/units/individuals engaged in import and export activities within the territory of the People's Republic of China.

This announcement mainly lists decabromodiphenyl ether, perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS-related substances), short-chain chlorinated paraffin wax, diclofenac and its cis and trans isomers as goods prohibited for import and export.
