Main Content
The UN TDG, also known as the "Orange Book," is an international regulation developed by the United Nations to harmonize the management of dangerous goods transportation. Updated biennially, it provides a regulatory framework for international transportation organizations, nations, and regions to craft legislation on dangerous goods. This guideline aims to ensure the safe transportation of dangerous goods across various modes of transport (including road, rail, waterway, air, and pipeline), reducing the risk of accidents and protecting human life and the environment. It is divided into two volumes, with this volume detailing the regulations for the transportation of dangerous goods, including packaging requirements and tank provisions; consignment procedures; manufacturing and testing requirements for packaging, intermediate bulk containers (IBCs), large packagings, portable tanks, multi-element gas containers, and bulk containers; and regulations related to transportation operations. It is applicable to activities related to the international transportation of dangerous goods.
