Shanghai Releases Draft Technical Specifications for Hazardous Chemical Traceability Codes

On December 31, 2024, the Shanghai Municipal Market Supervision Administration issued a public notice soliciting feedback on the local standard Technical Specifications for Traceability Codes of Hazardous Chemicals (Draft for Review). The public consultation period concluded on January 31, 2025.

According to the official results published on the administration’s website, no public comments or suggestions were received during the consultation period.

Scope of the Draft Standard

The Technical Specifications for Traceability Codes of Hazardous Chemicals (Draft for Review) outlines technical methods, labeling requirements, and maintenance protocols for traceability codes used to identify safety information of hazardous chemicals. It applies to the production, transportation, storage, use, and operation of hazardous chemicals.
