ECHA Seeks Public Feedback on Testing Proposals for 17 Chemicals Under REACH Regulations
Nov 8, 2024

On October 11, 2024, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) added 17 new substance testing proposals, seeking public input by set deadlines. This is part of a transparent process to determine if additional tests are needed for registered chemicals.

Under REACH regulations, registrants are required to submit a Testing Proposal (TP) for volumes of 100-1000 tonnes/year and over 1000 tonnes/year, before advancing to Annexes IX and X. Following public consultation, ECHA will finalize testing requirements based on feedback and substance traits. This process enhances safety assessments and adjusts testing protocols. Registrants must conduct these tests and update their safety data, ensuring chemical safety and promoting sustainable practices.
