The Ministry of Chemical Industry of the People's Republic of China, commonly referred to as the "Ministry of Chemical Industry" or "Chemical Industry Ministry," was one of the former component departments of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, responsible for the administrative management of the chemical industry. Established in May 1956, its predecessor was the Chemical Industry Bureau under the Ministry of Heavy Industry.
On March 10, 1998, in accordance with the "Decision on the State Council Institutional Reform Plan," the Ministry of Chemical Industry was dissolved.
