The National Cryptography Administration (NCA), also known as the State Cryptography Bureau, is a central government institution that operates under the direct administration of the Communist Party of China. It is co-located with the Office of the Central Leading Group on Cryptography, effectively functioning as one institution with two names. The NCA is responsible for the management of cryptographic work nationwide, including the formulation and implementation of cryptographic policies, laws, and standards. It also oversees the research, production, application, and security of cryptographic technologies and products.
