Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

The FDA is authorized by the U.S. Congress, that is, the federal government, and is the highest law enforcement agency specializing in the management of food and drugs. It is also a government health regulatory monitoring body composed of professionals such as doctors, lawyers, microbiologists, chemists, and statisticians, who are dedicated to protecting, promoting, and enhancing the health of the nation. Many countries seek and accept assistance from the FDA to promote and monitor the safety of their domestic products.
