The Department of Labor in the Taiwan region is the highest authority in charge of labor affairs, including workers and human resources, in the Taiwan region. It is also responsible for administering labor insurance under social insurance programs and handling the National Pension Scheme on behalf of the government. Its predecessor was the Council of Labor Affairs under the Executive Yuan.
