The Commodity Inspection Bureau of the People's Republic of China was established as a local institution in 1981. The Yingkou Commodity Inspection Office was founded in 1974 and renamed the Commodity Inspection Bureau of Yingkou, People's Republic of China, in 1981. It belonged to the category of party and government organs. In 1987, a new five-story office building was constructed. In 2000, it was merged and renamed the Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau of the People's Republic of China.
