China Light Industry Association
Location:Beijing, China
About
Commonly known as the Light Industry Federation, it was a directly affiliated public institution under the State Council responsible for managing the national light industry sector. Established in March 1993, the Federation was authorized by the State Council to oversee the light industry nationwide, focusing on industry planning, implementation of policies, macro-level guidance, and service provision for enterprises. Compared to the former Ministry of Light Industry, the Federation was tasked with reducing, transferring, and decentralizing direct management functions while strengthening its role in industry guidance and service provision for businesses. In March 1998, during the State Council’s institutional reform, the China Light Industry Federation was disbanded and replaced by the National Light Industry Bureau.
