Recently, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution of India announced in a gazette notification the update of standards for 18 substances, with detailed transition periods set for implementation.
The adoption of these new standards is divided into two batches. The first batch involves 11 substances, with the new standards adopted on July 11, 2024, while the old standards will remain effective until October 11, 2024. The second batch includes 7 substances, with the new standards adopted on July 22, 2024, and the old standards extended until January 22, 2025.
