Inventory Updates
Australia

On July 29, 2024, under Article 85 of the Industrial Chemicals Act 2019, the Australian government authorized targeted updates to the industrial chemicals registry to address inaccuracies or gaps. These changes, which involved only the renaming of chemicals to align with their international CAS identifiers, affected over 90 substances and were implemented between July 19 and 20, 2024. For instance, the chemical formerly known as

" Calciate(2-),[N,N'-1,2-ethanediylbis[N-(carboxymethyl)glycinato]-N,N',O,O',ON,ON']-,disodium, (OC-6-21)-" was renamed to

" Calciate(2-),[N,N′-1,2-ethanediylbis[N-[(carboxy-.kappa.O)methyl]glycinato-.kappa.N,.kappa.O]]-, sodium (1:2), (OC-6-21)-".

These updates enhance the accuracy and standardization of chemical names across databases, facilitating research and regulatory management without altering the chemicals' identities. For detailed information on the updates, please click the link below.
