On December 21, 2023, the Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Science and Technology of China published the Catalog of Technologies Prohibited or Restricted from Export, which comes into effect after its publication. This Catalog is designed to safeguard national security, public health and the environment. Under this Catalog, any entity or company is not allowed to export domestic technologies prohibited from China to foreign countries, which aims to prevent the risk of technology leakage. For technologies prohibited from China, entities or companies are required to obtain permission after application in accordance with the Regulations of the People's Republic of China on the Administration of Import and Export of Technologies.
