The List of Classified Substances in Malaysia is formulated in accordance with Part II of the Occupational Safety and Health (Classification, Labelling and Safety Data Sheet of Hazardous Chemicals) Regulations (CLASS Regulation) 2013, which is included in Part I of the Industry Code of Practice on Chemicals Classification and Hazard Communication(ICOP). The List includes Substance names, CAS numbers, classifications and labels of substances and is published and regulated by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) in Malaysia.
► Listed chemicals shall be classified according to the classification specified in the list. The classification prescribed in the list represents the minimum classification for chemicals. If suppliers have data or other information that indicates additional hazard classification or more severe category than the minimun classification, then the classification can be appropriately adjusted. If the classification provided by the supplier excludes any hazard category or adopts a less severe category compared to the minimum classification, relevant information and data supporting such classification shall be submitted to Director General of the DOSH.
► Chemicals not included in the List are not subject to the relevant obligations.
